7 Ways to Increase Your PageRank

I’m always looking for ways to better my sites. More traffic, better PageRank, you know, the usual stuff. Here lately, it’s been PageRank and the factors that help increase it.

One of the first items I ran across is title tags. Creating unique title tags for each page on your website helps Google sort through the information and rank it more relevantly. Furthermore, most web crawlers use the text of your title tag as the text they use for the title of your page listing.

Updating your site on a regular basis seems to help. Providing your visitors a reason to return for fresh content should benefit both of you.

The most important factor in page rank are the number of links coming into your site. There is still some debate as to whether the page rank of the incoming site helps, hurts or doesn’t matter at all. And remember, two way links are always best.

There are several ways to accomplish this task. The first way is to use your forum posts to your advantage. Nearly all forums allow posters to have some type of signature at the end of your post and it’s an excellent way to get links and visitors.

Another way is to use articles to boost your incoming links and your PR. This again gives the two things we love most, back links and traffic. Just be sure your articles are well written and on topic for your site.

Web directories such as DMOZ.com can also be useful. Just be sure that they wouldn’t be considered “link farms” ( sites which provide nothing but links and no useful content). Here is a list of both paid and free directories.

While in my arduous travels across the intertubes I ran across a couple of more unique approaches. 10Pagerank is an experimental SEO site with a PR of 5 and will trade links with your site. Definitely worth checking out.

And lastly Sensonize.com has some fresh approaches to SEO and making money online. Sensonite has a PR2 and will trade links. Want a link from a PR10 site? Sensonite has will tell you how.

It’s best not to do all of your link building all at once. Spread it out over time. Although link building is tedious it is a necessary task if you want more traffic, higher PR and maybe more money.
